Fake banknotes falling from the sky in Ukraine’s border regions. Russian drones are dropping propaganda leaflets disguised as Ukrainian currency in northern Ukraine ahead of Russia’s 9 May Victory Day, promoting calls for “joint celebration” and Kremlin historical narratives. The leaflets include QR codes which link to messaging aimed at discrediting Ukraine’s leadership and amplifying wartime propaganda.
