In March 2024, Zelenskyy appointed Ivashchenko as head of the FIS. Prior to that, Ivashchenko held the position of first deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense — assistant to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
