In Jan 2011, the GAO estimated 250,000 5.56mm rounds were needed to kill one Taliban insurgent. At 63 cents each, 250,000 5.56mm costs $157,500. Assuming 3 FPV to kill, 30 FPV to get three hits, and $300 per FPV, that is $9,000 to kill a US soldier or marine with FPV's. 4/
