Vitalii Merinov, four-time world kickboxing champion and Ukrainian champion, died while defending Ukraine. Vitalii joined the war on the first day of the full-scale invasion. He sustained a shrapnel wound, then returned to the front lines after recovering, but later died in hospital from subsequent injuries.
