Russian POWs allegedly sent to trenches to ‘atone’ for captivity

It has long been known that Russian soldiers returning from Ukrainian captivity are not allowed to go home, but are sent straight to the trenches. They are considered unreliable and must "atone" for their guilt at having been taken prisoner.
