Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed General Serhiy Hnatov as the new Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Previously, Hnatov commanded the Operational-Strategic Group of Forces 'Khortytsia' and, before that, the 36th Marine Brigade. He enjoys high authority within the military.
