Russian media have confirmed the deaths of Major General Mikhail Gudkov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Naval Forces, and his close associate, Russian Navy officer Lieutenant Colonel Nariman Shikhaliyev. Reports indicate that between 10 and 20 Russian officers were killed in total.
