On February 3, 2025, the General Staff of Ukraine confirmed that Ukrainian Special Forces and the SBU, in coordination with other defense units, targeted the Volgograd Refinery and the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant—critical suppliers of fuel for Russian military forces.
