A Russian missile strike on Kyiv killed the Shobyk family on 17 June 2025. Parents Rostyslav and Inna, their son Artem, 22, and his girlfriend Veronika, 21, died in their apartment. Only 12-year-old Illia survived. He was staying with his grandmother. He is now an orphan.
