The situation is set to improve with the 800,000 shells from outside the EU, combined with increased Western production. It's also worth noting that Russia requires more shells because theirs are less accurate and they waste significantly more ammunition.

To me the more helpful takeaway is that at rates of expenditure relative to regeneration Russia is constrained in the number of major offensives like Avdiivka they can conduct. Alternative attritional tactics can preserve equipment, but unlikely to yield breakthroughs.
