The French government believes that Ukraine could join the European Union no earlier than in 15-20 years. This was stated by Clément Beaune, France's Minister of State for European Affairs, during an interview on Radio J.
By establishing a second defensive line, while Ukraine massed troops in the sector to force Russia to redeploy forces from the Donbass to the area. The zone must therefore be closely monitored in the coming week.
18/ Russian forces are bringing reinforcements and consolidating their positions, while the Ukrainians must rapidly establish roughly defensive positions on the new lines. In the Donetsk sector as well, things are evolving:
17/ to Vrubivka (Zolote close to being encircled) and to the south beyond Troitske. This position would allow linking towards Horlivka by passing behind Ukrainian fortifications. Thus, the Popasna breakthrough is major because it destabilizes the entire northeast bulge of the Donbas.
16/ This hill, however, overlooks the valley leading from Bakhmut to Siversk, as well as the road to Severodonetsk: this can no longer be supplied, nor even Lysychansk. The entire salient is now under Russian fire. They have also pushed north
For 8 years now. As often in trench warfare, once you've breached three successive lines, there's no fallback position left behind. The Russians have therefore pushed their advantage westward, northward, and southward. They are now at the gates of Soledar.
14/ Either the UKR find a way to evacuate the city, or a large-scale siege like Mariupol will be launched. The Popasna Axis. It is here that the most clear developments have occurred. Indeed, the RU exploited the breakthrough made in the UKR disposition, which was however established.
10/ Thus, the Russians would have secured the Kharkov front and there is no longer an immediate threat to their supply lines. Front of Severodonetsk: This is probably the place where the most movement has occurred and allows speaking of a phase 3.
