Ian Frank Tortorici (May 10, 1991–Jun 27, 2023): Marine and ICE agent. Quietly quit, arrived Mar 3, 2022. Medic in Irpin, later machine gunner in the International Legion. Killed when two missiles hit a Kramatorsk restaurant. 9/

Ex-Marine Ethan Hertweck killed saving teammate in Avdiivka
Ethan Hertweck (Jul 17, 2002–Dec 4, 2023): ex-Marine, discharged for a blood disorder. First rescued civilians, then served as a combat medic with the 131st Recon. Killed in Avdiivka trying to save a teammate. Body returned a year later. 7/

Dalton Medlin, Army vet, executed by Russians, body booby-trapped
Dalton Medlin (Dec 29, 2000–Sept 27, 2023): Army infantry vet. Nickname “Gimli.” Stayed when his unit was overrun; Russians executed the wounded, looted his gear, and booby-trapped his body. His father still hopes to visit the place he fell. 8/

Iraq vet Dane Alan Partridge, 34 (May 4, 1988–Oct 11, 2022): trained Ukrainians on the M2 Browning, ran recon and de-mining, took prisoners, covered a retreat. Tank shrapnel broke his neck. He died 8 days later in a hospital. 3/
