From 4 a.m. on 24 February 2022, when the Russian Federation’s armed attack against Ukraine began, until midnight on 8 March 2022 (local time), the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine recorded 1,424 civilian casualties in the country: 516 killed and 908 injured.
