The BMP-2 has a crew of 3 and carries up to 7 passengers. As a subsequent video in this thread shows, all the passengers were dismounted and taking shelter behind a wall. The soldier almost certainly recognised that. Troops in the open are *hugely* vulnerable to these weapons. /2
