On April 13, for the first time since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu, the statement from the Department of Defense reads. Austin called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine.
