A total of 16 helicopters were deployed, with 2 shot down by Russian troops. A third helicopter was also destroyed while attempting to rescue one of the downed aircraft. In total, seven Mi-8 helicopter missions were conducted, with 2 helicopters flying at a time and once 4 simultaneously.
