Russian Strategy: Severodonetsk, Bakhmut, Donetsk, and the Abandonment of Izyum

17/ They pushed from the Northeast to take Severodonetsk. Once taken, they moved on to other objectives: continuing the push towards Bakhmut and pushing to clear Donetsk. In doing so, Izyum, which had been one of their strongholds, was gradually abandoned. This is what the UKR forces observed.
