According to the report, the former prisoners of war took part in Ukraine’s defense of Mariupol, including the Azovstal steelworks, and fought against Russian forces in Kherson Oblast and the eastern regions. Some of the exchanged POWs were wounded and tortured by Russia in captivity, the official added.
