On the first day of the invasion, Feb. 24, the Russian forces seized the village. In March 2022, the occupation authorities forcibly deported the family to Voronezh Oblast. In May 2023, the young mother appealed to Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets to return her and her son to Ukraine.
