According to Dmitry Shkrebets, the father of one of the dead sailors, the ceremony was "unofficial", although Vice-Admiral Sergei Pinchuk, commander of the Black Sea Fleet, took part in it. A separate memorial dedicated solely to the Moskva has also been promised.
