Dron fought for three years and four months in eastern Ukraine — specifically in the Seredbriansky forest on the Luhansk front. He volunteered on March 2, 2022, joined the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade, and carried a rifle he named ‘Ernest’. His callsign was ‘Davyd.’
