North Korean troops continue to take part in Russia's war against Ukraine. According to Ukraine's Defense Intelligence, they are supporting artillery strikes. As of January 2026, DPRK soldiers are deployed in Kursk Oblast, from where they are targeting Ukrainian border settlements.
