The US embassy in Kyiv has had trouble retaining ambassadors during both of Trump’s terms and Russia's war. In 2019, Trump recalled Amb. Marie Yovanovitch, who he called "bad news." Amb. Bridget Brink resigned over policy differences with Trump a year ago.
