Why would it not be realistic? This is where RU forces have the least amount of troops per km frontline.

Kherson bridges will be destroyed by both sides
No matter what, those bridges will not survive the war. If there is a siege of Kherson, UA will do everything to blow he bridges. If RU have to retreat, they will blow the bridges. If UA takes Kherson, the might blow the bridge just to secure the west of the river.

Since Mariupol isn't that important anymore, I would do something like this instead. If Ukraine can position artillery near Nova Kakhovka and encircle Melitopol, after capturing Berdyansk, they can control both rail connections and the main roads to Crimea.
