Let's make some comparisons with the DNR video at the top of the thread. It's the first time I've seen Russian or separatist forces using a likely consumer-grade drone to drop an improvised munition. I think we can draw a few conclusions from the video. /15

Aerorozvidka: Ukraine’s Tech Edge
Superior technology is only effective if it can be exploited effectively. Here, too, Ukraine has an edge – a unit called Aerorozvidka, established by volunteers in 2014 and now integrated into the Ukrainian Ground Forces. It's played a very important role in the war.

3D-printed components enable air-dropped RKG-1600s from converted RKG-3s with 1m accuracy
These require a considerably higher level of technology to produce, in particular access to 3D printers. The RKG-3s are being converted into air-dropped RKG-1600s using 3D-printed components. They're claimed to be accurate to within 1m from a height of 300m. /8

Inaccurate munition strike misses target, likely due to poor aerodynamics
Not surprisingly, the accuracy is lousy: it's not aerodynamic at all. The pilot aims at a group of cars – presumably used by Ukrainian forces – but the munition lands dozens of metres away behind a building. It likely bounces before exploding, further reducing accuracy. /3

Patience and professionalism of Ukrainian troops
The calmness and professionalism of these Ukrainian troops as shells are literally exploding all around them is incredibly impressive. We need to keep giving them the weapons and support they need to win this war.
